180 Proof

EVERY NIGHT is PARTY NIGHT at 180 Proof. located in the heart of Bangalore, its one of the more spacious pubs in Bangalore...though you may still not be able to get around inside with all the maddening crowd !! Whether you're meeting the gang, or new friends -- or just relaxing with your favorite libation and a bit of conversation, 180 Proof is the place to go for a fun night out in Bangalore - but you have to get here early in the evening to get a seat anywhere inside the pub. Crowds come early and stay late. The pub is usually open till 11:00 PM thanks to Bangalore's antiquated laws. The DJ usually plays dance and commercial music with a bit of trance thrown in sometimes.

When empty you can really appreciate the groovy (or ghastly, depending on your viewpoint) interior.The first thing that catches your eye when you walk in is the huge staircase inside (though you cant usually see it with all the people crowding on it !!).The sofas downstairs are nice and spacious and ideal for flopping into. The pub itself is roomy unlike most other pubs in town. There is a bar on top of the stairs and a little room on top...though I dont see any point going up thru all that crowd !If you want to watch the match then you have to go upstairs as it is the only area with a TV.Don't forget to collect your free 180 Proof postcards after you've used the toilet!

It also has a courtyard with tables beyond the pub which is a really nice place to enjoy some quality time with friends. The courtyard also has a bar counter. This place is away from the loud music inside. Food is good quality but is on the expensive side. The food is neatly presented and top quality, and takes a long time to arrive. You're best off going for the dips and chips. One of the major drawbacks (pay attention !)is that they DO NOT serve draught beer ! But with the quality of draught beer in the other pubs...who's complaining ?! With a name like 180 Proof it isn't surprising that you're encouraged to consume hard liqour, is it now?
