Love makes the world go round. Yes, it actually does. Ask any one who is in love, and they'd agree to it.
In this fast-pace life, everyone is busy with their routine activities. The feelings of Love are present
in their hearts and minds, but hardly get expressed. Expressions of love strengthen the bond. It makes
both the people involved feel loved, cared and pampered. And, this can make you feel on top of the world!
An eternal romantic would say that there's no need for a special time or place to express Love. St.
Valentine's Day gives an opportunity for people who are generally shy, to dare and bare their feelings.
Any opportunity to express Love should be grabbed. St. Valentine's Day celebrated on 14th February is
one such occasion. Yes, it did originate in Rome. So what? Its another opportunity to show your concern
and affection to your loved ones. Just grab the chance and make someone feel special. This would make
your heart feel nice'n'happy too. Why lose on an opportunity?
We had a few politicians and bureaucrats objecting to the celebration of St. Valentine's Day, for no
rhyme or reason. The only reason I can comprehend is, maybe they are too frustrated in life due to the
absence of the emotion of Love in their lives. Or, maybe their age does not make them feel like it.
They would not like others to celebrate the same. The argument they put forth is that its the foreign
culture being imposed on us, etc.

Do we not celebrate the New Year's Day on January 1st? Don't we have a holiday on the 1st of May?
There are other days like Father's Day, Mother's Day, Family Day, Friendship day, etc. to show appreciation
and affection to your near and dear ones.
So what's wrong with a day to show your affection to your Sweetheart? This should be left to the individuals
to decide. After all, we are staying in a democracy! Let us know what you think about the same.
